About the Backpack Buddies Organization
Millions of children in the U.S. count on free and reduced meals available at school to alleviate their hunger. Many may leave school on Friday not knowing when their next meal is. The Back- pack Buddies Program helps meet their needs by providing school aged children with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food for the weekend.
We are now feeding over 1,000 children weekly in St. Clair County, Pell City, and Leeds School Systems, but that number continues to grow. As the number of children increases, so does the need for financial support.
